Cameroon

Kate in Cameroon dressI support the work of Wycliffe Bible Translators, specifically the translation team for a language in Cameroon. A friend (Tony)  has worked there for 16 years, and he and the local translators have now completed the New Testament, which has been printed.   I attended the dedication of the New Testament in November 2013 with 3 friends from my church. Tony and Carol met us at Yaounde airport, and we stayed 4 nights at two hotels, one near a crater lake and one near a dam, where there were interesting birds to watch, and amazing big butterflies.  We swam in one lake (lovely and warm) – the weather was very hot.  One morning our dinner (a BIG fish) arrived by canoe.  The dedication ceremony was impressive, with the local church choir singing and dancing, and then everyone who had bought a copy of the NT danced around waving it in the air.  On the way back we flew by 6- seater Cessna plane, and had good views of the countryside!  It was quite an adventure.
